Benefit Fishing Tournament for Hanna Pignato
May 3rd, 2019Support a great cause! Join us on Sunday, May 5th on Cinco de Mayo for a FREE fishing tournament benefiting Hanna Pignato at the Main Street Pier in Daytona Beach, FL. This event is from 8am to 2pm and includes an award party afterward at “The Roof” with live music. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and all winners will receive a free pair of Native Eyewear Sunglasses. There will also be raffles for free fishing charters, sunglasses and gift cards for local restaurants. This event is sponsored by Side Effects, Native Eyewear, The Roof, Yellow Dawg Fishing, Coastal Angler Magazine and Pure Life Surf School.
About Hanna Pignato
On Saturday, April 13th around 7pm in Daytona Beach, there was a young boy stranded from his boogie board, drowning in the water and getting taken away by the rip current. Hanna works on The Roof at Joe’s Crab Shack and saw this happening. Hanna, not only having a great heart, but being a surfer and a swimmer for most of her life, ran down the back steps to the pier and jumped off in hopes to save the child. Unfortunately, she landed on the sandbar and the impact fractured her lower back in three places and broke her right heel and the top of her foot. In pain, she continued to swim towards the child. When she saw a man about to finally grab the boy, she swam towards shore and had to be dragged out of the water herself. Everyone lived, including the child. Now, Hanna needs our help. Hanna does not have health insurance and will be on bed rest and out of work for the next couple of months. She has an amazing support system and is overwhelmingly appreciative of everyone who has been and will be there for her. Thank you infinitely for your support!
